DAY 13Active Rest Day

To celebrate the weekend I went with friends up the beautiful Table Rock Mountain here in Boise to perform my cardio this morning. This was an opportunity for me to get my cardio completed on an amazing hike while also separating myself from technology. In a world which is so heavily consumed with being accessible 24/7, it is easy to lose sight of the things that matter the most, like the time spent with loved ones.

Later we headed to the store in order to get some ingredients to make some healthy high-protein waffles (the recipe is below). Remember that if you’re going to have these on rest days like today, you need to adjust your carbohydrates because you’re only having 0.85 g per pound of body weight on non-training days.

Healthy High-Protein Waffle Recipe 

  • 1 cup of buckwheat flour
  • 2 cups of almond milk
  • 1 cup of low-fat cottage cheese
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 scoop of KASEIN

Stir and place in a waffle maker. Serve with calorie-free pancake syrup!
