4 Refreshing Summer Smoothies

Recently I have been spending time with Sunshine creating some delicious recipes (well, she has been while I have been watching) and I wanted to share those with you today. Summer smoothies are always a welcome refreshment in the heat, however, making sure they nutritionally support your goals is critical. Don't allow the summer temperatures to derail your discipline—you can enjoy great tasting smoothies without any dietary compromises. Below are four recipes I guarantee you will love!

 

Creamy Vanilla Piña Colada 

Serves 1

Bringing the delightful taste of the Caribbean into your diet is this excellent high- protein creamy vanilla Piña Colada, without the alcohol, of course.  

Ingredients: 

1 large glass of natural almond milk

1/2 cup of fresh pineapple chunks

1/4 cup of organic coconut cream

1 serving of KAGED MUSCLE MicroPure Whey Protein Isolate (vanilla)

1/2 glass of ice  

Directions:  

1. Mix all ingredients in a blender, blend for 20–30 seconds.

Nutrition facts per serving:

300 calories, 27 g protein, 12 g carbs, 16 g fats

 

 

Milky Chocolate Nut & Seed Sundae  

Serves 1  

This smoothie is a delicious chocolate dessert in a glass, packed with a protein punch without the guilt-ridden calorie content your average sundae contains.

Ingredients:

1 large glass of natural almond milk

1 tbsp of crunchy natural peanut butter

1 serving of KAGED MUSCLE MicroPure Whey Protein Isolate (chocolate)

1 tbsp of chia seeds

1/2 glass of ice

Directions:

1. Mix all ingredients in a blender, blend for 20–30 seconds.

Banana Split

Serves 1 

Packed with performance and recovery properties, this healthy banana split smoothie is the perfect choice if you have completed a grueling run or gym workout earlier in the day.

Ingredients:

1 large glass of natural almond milk

1 medium-sized banana

1 serving of KAGED MUSCLE MicroPure Whey Protein Isolate (vanilla)

1 tbsp of Manuka honey

1 tsp of cinnamon

1/2 glass of ice

Directions:

1. Mix all ingredients in a blender, blend for 20–30 seconds.

Peanut Butter & Jelly Delight 

Serves 1 

Do you still love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? They seem to have gained an iconic status in the childhood of many people so here is a visit down memory lane, without the unhealthy calories.  

Ingredients: 

1 large glass of natural almond milk

1/2 cup of mixed frozen berries

1 serving of KAGED MUSCLE MicroPure Whey Protein Isolate (vanilla)

1 tbsp of natural crunchy peanut butter

1/2 cup of powdered gluten-free oats

Directions:

1. Mix all ingredients in a blender, blend for 20–30 seconds.
